HOW TO MAKE A JELLYFISH AND A SQUID

With summer comes swimming in the sea. Do you know what creatures you can find hiding under the water? Two of them are a jellyfish and a squid. That’s what we will be making today from paper, crayons and watercolours.

Materials:

Card paper

Crayons

Watercolours

brush and water

Black marker

Scissors

Coloured paper

Step-by-step instructions:

1, Take a card paper and some crayons and draw a variety of shapes and patterns on the page.

2, Then pick your favourite watercolours and paint all over the page. If you add extra water, the colours will blend together. Let the page dry.

3, Take the dry page and scissors and cut out some round shapes with a flat bottom for a jellyfish and some long triangular shapes with a flat bottom for a squid. Look at the picture above to see the shapes.

4, Use the leftover paper to cut out wiggly oval shapes for the jellyfish and squid’s “skirt”.

5, Glue the “skirts” to the shapes we have cut out previously.

6, Cut out circles from a white paper and draw a small black circle inside to make an eye. Glue the eyes onto your sea creatures.

7, Take some coloured paper and cut out strips. They can be short, long, straight, zigzag, curled up,…

We will use these for tentacles. When you are done cutting, glue them to the bottom of the jellyfish and squid.
