Autumn leaves and hand printing

Do you watch all the trees shedding their leaves and preparing for winter? Do you wish you could keep the memory of you or your kids running through the colourful fallen leaves for a little longer. Then get your kids dressed up and go pick up some autumn leaves and get working on this art project.

Materials:

Paper

Paints

Brush

Leaves

Let’s get started:

1, For this step you need to wear a short sleeve or pull up the long one. Take some brown paint and cover your palm, wrist and bit of your arm with it. Press your painted arm on the page to make a tree print and go wash your arm.

2, Prepare some leaves and autumn coloured paints for example yellow, orange, green and brown. Take your leaves and place them with the top facing down, so the rough side is facing up. Paint on the rough side and then press the leaf on your page and peel it off.

3, Keep going until you are happy with your art. You can cover the bottom of the page with leaf prints too. Don’t be afraid to mix colours together and have fun.

PS: You can have extra fun by comparing your hand prints with other family members and your kids will learn how different everybody’s hands are.
