FIRST SPRING EXPLORING WITH OIL PASTELS – FLORAL PAINTING

First spring day is here and with it a time to explore new things and spend more time outside. The spring brings new energy and warms us up. Why not start it with a fun flower drawing? For this project, you will need to dig out your oil pastels, chalk pastels or crayons.

Materials:

Oil pastels / Chalk pastels / Crayons

White or coloured paper for the background

Plain paper

Pencil

Scissors

Let’s start crafting:

1, Take a plain sheet of paper and draw some simple outlines of flowers and leaves, then cut them out.

2, Place the flowers and leaves on your paper and pick out some bright and contrasting pastels that will look great on your paper.

3, Put your finger on one of the flowers to hold it down, then take a pastel and draw lines from the centre of the flower to the background page. It is okay for the lines to be overlapping. Try not to go under our cut out flowers as we want to keep thins uncoloured. Repeat the same process for the remaining flowers and leaves.

4, When you are done remove all the cut out flowers and leaves.
