Do you want to teach your kids something new about colour theory? Then try this tree drawing in which kids get to explore colours, learn about using ruler and deepen their measuring skills.


Materials:
Paper
Colouring pencils
Ruler
Pencil
Black permanent marker
Let’s start crafting:
1, Take a pencil and lightly draw a simple tree on your page.
2, Take a pencil and ruler and draw a grid on your paper that is 3cm x 3cm. Don’t put too much pressure in the pencil as we don’t want them to be too visible.
3, Split the page in the middle, You can measure this with your ruler or bend the page in half.
4, Colour the tree trunk and branches with a black permanent marker.
5, First we will colour one half of the page. Colour the background in cool colours and the tree leaves in warm colours.
Examples of warm colours: Shades of yellow, orange, red, pink…
Examples of cool colours: Shades of green, blue, purple…
6, Now colour the second half of the page but colour the background in warm colours and the tree leaves in cool colours.
