Valentine’s Day is a special time to celebrate love, kindness, and friendship! Learn how to make a pop-up Valentine’s Day card for your loved ones and friends. With Valentine’s Day being around the corner, it is time to get crafting.
Materials:
Red and white card paper
Coloured paper
Pencil
Scissors
Water and brush
Watercolours
Glue
Marker
Step-by-step tutorial:
1, Take a red card paper and fold it in half, then take a white card paper and fold it in half. Make sure the white paper is smaller than the red one. If it isn’t, then cut the sides of the paper a little bit.
2, On the top of the red card paper, write ‘Happy Valentine’s’ and at the bottom write ‘Day’. Leave some space in the middle for a heart.
3, Now we will make a fingerprint heart where we left our space on the card. Dip your finger in white or pink paint and start pressing your fingerprint on the card, making a heart.
4, Take the white card and open it up. On the sides of the card, we will paint multiple hearts of various sizes with watercolours. To make your hearts nice, draw the outline lightly with a pencil, then colour it in with watercolours. Set the finished hearts on the side to dry up.
5, In the meanwhile take some paper and draw medium sized heart that will be in the middle of the card.
6, Cut out the heart, bend it in half and trim any bits that are sticking out to make the heart symmetrical. We will use this heart as a template to make more hearts.
7, Take different coloured papers, trace your heart on them and cut them out. You will need about 6 to 9 hearts. I have used 7.
8, Fold all the hearts in half and glue one half of a heart to another, until you connect all of them.
9, Take the white card and glue down the heart we just made. You want to glue down the heart right in the middle of the page, where the fold is.
When you close and open the card, the heart will pop out.
10, Now you glue down the white card in the middle of the red on and you are done.
